The Sydney Shambhala group is made up of a diverse, capable and friendly group of people. Our members and friends include senior teachers who have walked the Shambhala Buddhist path for many years; as well as a growing number of enthusiastic newcomers who are just discovering our teachings on realising basic goodness and building an enlightened society.

The Sydney Shambhala community features community and health workers, therapists, professionals, academics, business people, artists, healers and people who are creating alternate livelihoods. The age of the community ranges from the twenties to the sixties. Ethnicity and religious backgrounds are also quite diverse.

Our commonality is founded in our hearts desire to create contentment in our own personal lives while simultaneously contributing to the manifestation of an enlightened society. Wisdom, compassion and mindful expression of Shambhala Buddhist values are also shared aspirations and qualities.

We are very much part of a global Shambhala community or mandala, the centre of which is located in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The organisational structure and responsibilities at Shambhala Sydney Meditation is governed within the framework outlined by our global community.

Whether you are just simply looking to find some personal answers or if you are looking for a journey of a lifetime, you are always most welcome!
